Introduction
The ‘NVQ on-line’ system has been developed by Business Safety Systems (BSS) in order to assist candidates in understanding and completing the required NVQ
process.
Benefits
Before we introduced the system our experience had shown that it wasn’t gathering the evidence needed that proved to be the stumbling block to candidates,
but actually completing the required documentation. Valuable time was often being lost on administration and getting to grips with procedures, resulting in
many candidates becoming demoralised.
Candidates and assessors can therefore now concentrate on the quality and competence of the evidence being produced for the portfolio.
A further advantage of the on-line system is that assessors can continually monitor the candidate’s progress and discuss the contents of the portfolio with
him/her without the need for an excessive number of time-consuming meetings or posting of documentation.
Available for
The system is now available for level 3, level 4 and level 5 Occupational Health and
Safety NVQs, together with the level 5 NVQ in Health and Safety Regulation which is designed specifically for enforcement officers.
Requirements
In order to be able to make use of the ‘NVQ on-line’ system you must have access to a computer with internet access (preferably broadband but not essential)
and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Candidates are provided with their own user name and password when they register for their NVQ.
The details contained within your personal area of the system remain confidential to you and your assessor, or other necessary BSS staff and is covered by
the Data Protection Act.
