Course aims
The NEBOSH National General Certificate is a qualification aimed at safety officers and anyone with responsibility for Health and Safety at work.
It is not a qualification purely for Health and Safety specialists. No previous Health and Safety knowledge is required.
Course objectives
Upon completion of this course candidates will be able to:

Have a good awareness of all types of workplace hazards and risks

Implement a comprehensive Health and Safety management system
-
Set practical Health and Safety objectives and be able to plan and implement means of achieving those objectives

Carry out risk assessments and be able to set appropriate control measures
-
Carry out full safety inspections and audits within workplaces
-
Provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision for all employees within the workplace
-
Investigate all incidents involving injury or damage in order to determine the causes and to take appropriate remedial actions
-
Communicate effectively on Health and Safety issues with superiors, employees, and Health and Safety professionals
-
Understand the main legal requirements relating to employers and managers and to act to fulfil these obligations
-
Successful candidates are awarded the NEBOSH National General Certificate
Duration
12 days including 2 exam days to undertake a written and practical exam
Timetable
09.30 - 12.30 and 13.00 - 16.30 daily
Examination
Two written papers with a practical safety inspection and report
